Given the urgency of developing and deploying climate change preventive and protective measures worldwide, now is the time for health professionals around the world—to develop and rapidly scale up our efforts to protect the public’s health.

Efforts are already under way in many nations to activate health professionals as advocates for climate and health. Each of these efforts is important, but they are not yet tightly focused on achieving the global goal of limiting warming to no more than 2 °C.

When it comes to campaigning for a change, it can be difficult to create the momentum needed to make a difference. Grassroots activism is about mobilizing a group of people, who are passionate about a cause and harnessing the power of their conviction to push for a different outcome. This kind of movement relies on individuals who are willing to drive the change that they are concerned about from the ground-up.

Climate change affects many of the social and environmental determinants of health – clean air, safe drinking water, sufficient food and secure shelter.

EASA unifies aviation regulation across the European Union. EASA is responsible for determining airworthiness of new aircraft, handing out type certificates, issuing airworthiness directives, giving authorizations to foreign airlines that want to operate to and from the EU.
