Ukraine plans to hold another “Crimean Platform” summit on August 23, 2022 that will be held online.

The strategic goal of the Crimean Platform is the de-occupation of Crimea.

Purpose

• Provide a strategic vision to the process of de-occupation of Crimea
• Consolidate efforts on the Crimean track on international level
• Add synergy to all relevant processes at intergovernmental, inter-parliamentary and non-government levels.

High Risk

1. $52.7 billion for chip manufacturing and research
2. $39 billion over five years to expand domestic semiconductor manufacturing. It will provide companies incentives to build, expand and modernize US facilities and equipment.
3. New 25% tax credit for companies that invest in semiconductor manufacturing equipment or the construction of manufacturing facilities.
4. Private companies that receive financial assistance will be restricted from expanding certain chip manufacturing in China for 10 years.

Prime Minister of Finland, Sanna Marin, asked for an EU-wide ban for Russian citizens from Schengen, targeting tourists with Russian passports more specifically. “It’s not right she said that at the same time as Russia is waging an aggressive, brutal war of aggression in Europe, Russians can live a normal life, travel in Europe, be tourists.

18 U.S.C. 1924 – Unauthorized Removal and Retention of Classified Documents or Material

Section 1924 makes it a crime to knowingly remove classified documents with the intent to retain them in an unauthorized location. There are a few problems with this statute, however, as applied to Trump. 

1. Federal criminal investigation into White House records removal: Possible violations of laws related to the Presidential Records Act and the handling of classified material. Federal law bars the removal of classified documents to unauthorized locations. To bring criminal charges against Trump, investigators would need to prove he acted knowingly.

In 2020, general government expenditure in the 27 EU Member States on "fire protection services" amounted to €32.9 billion, a 6.4% increase from 2019, when expenditure was around €30.9 billion.
