POLAND TOURISM ADMINISTRATIVE AND TERRITORIAL ADMINISTRATION

Since 2007 tourism is within the scope of competence of the Minister of Sport and Tourism.  Tourism related issues are handled by Department of Tourism. Ministry responsible for tourism cooperate with Marshals for the realization of  tasks defined in the Act on Tourism Services of 29 August 1997.

On the regional level - Marshals are responsible for realisation and implementation of tasks ordered in the framework of governmental administration, especially tasks defined in the Act on Tourism Services of 29 August 1997.

National level

NETHERLANDS TOURISM ADMINISTRATIVE AND TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION

The Ministry of Economic Affairs is responsible for tourism policy at the national level. The Ministry’s responsibilities include:

BELGIUM TOURISM ADMINISTRATIVE AND TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION

Tourism is regional matter in Belgium. Each of the three regions as well as the German-speaking community has its own organisation and legislation. They are acting independent from each other.

Flanders

SWEDEN TOURISM ADMINISTRATIVE AND TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION

The current organisational structure of Sweden’s tourism at national level was determined by an act of parliament in 2005. Two organisations, the government agency Tillväxtverket (the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth) and the partly stated owned company VisitSweden AB, are responsible for tourism at the national level.

BULGARIA TOURISM ADMINISTRATIVE AND TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION

The Bulgarian Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism has the responsibility to implement the state policy in the field of tourism and to co-ordinate the activities of the ministries and other institutions towards its implementation.

GERMANY TOURISM ADMINISTRATIVE AND TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION

Germany is a federal state. The Federal Government is primarily responsible for establishing an appropriate policy environment for tourism. The 16 Länder (states) are responsible for the actual development, shaping and promotion of tourism.

The Federal-Länder-Committee on Tourism serves as the main platform for co-operation.

The Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy has the lead responsibility for tourism policy within the German Government.

CYPRUS TOURISM ADMINISTRATIVE AND TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION

The Ministry of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism (MECIT) is the central government body responsible for tourism at the highest level and its mission is the development of the Cyprus economy through continuous support of various sectors amongst which is the tourism sector. The mission is pursued through the formulation of the appropriate legal and administrative framework and the adoption of policies and targets which create the proper business environment for Cypriot Businesses in their effort to take advantage of the opportunities that arise in the market.

CROATIA TOURISM ADMINISTRATIVE AND TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION

The Ministry of Tourism (NTA) is responsible for drafting strategies, policies and other measures at national level and drawing up proposals for legislation that regulates the tourism and hospitality industry, the tourism board’s role and activities and tourism tax issues. The Ministry is headed by the Minister and he has one Deputy Minister.

AUSTRIA TOURISM ADMINISTRATIVE AND TERRITORIAL ORGANIZATION

According to the Austrian Federal Constitution, the nine Länder (federal states) have the legislative and executive competencies for tourism affairs. Nevertheless, as tourism is a typical cross-cutting sector, both federal and European laws apply. In 2006, the Austrian Parliament established the Parliamentary Committee for Tourism. At the national level, tourism policy is the responsibility of the Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy ('the ministry'). In 2010 the minister launched a tourism strategy with the objective of a close and strategic co-ordination in tourism issues.
