Situation Analysis

Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) enable the public sector to benefit from commercial dynamism, the ability to raise finances in an environment of budgetary restrictions, innovations and efficiencies harnessed through the introduction of private sector investors who contribute their own capital, skills and experience.

At the national level the main organization for tourism policy in Lithuania is the Ministry of Economy. The Tourism Policy Division of the Ministry is responsible for:

Under the Ministry of Economy, the State Department of Tourism which is responsible for:

The state tourism policy has been focusing on the legal regulation of the sector and supporting the dissemination of tourism information. The national tourism policy and development activities are implemented by the Estonian Tourist Board which is subordinated to the Foundation Enterprise Estonia and belongs to the administrative sphere of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication.

 Activities of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communication in the field of tourism:

Britain’s tourism industry is a dynamic affiliation of public and private sector organisations including small- to medium-size enterprises (SMEs); international private businesses (eg. airlines or large hotel chains), as well as Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) at local and regional level.

Each of the countries within the British Isles also has its own national tourist board which works closely together.
