Latvia shares a 214 km border with Russia and is host to one of the largest ethnic Russian communities in the European Union and NATO. Nearly 25 percent of all Latvians boast Russian lineage and 37 percent of Latvian citizens are native Russian speakers. The Russian community maintains close relations with family members in Russia, with Russia granting visa-free travel. Ethnic Russians in Latvia rely almost exclusively on Russian langue media outlets for their news and entertainment.

Few European countries are as closely interconnected culturally and economically to Russia as Bulgaria. Despite membership in NATO (2004) and the European Union (2007) Bulgarians remain largely sympathetic toward Russia. For many Bulgarians being both pro-European and pro-Russian is not mutually exclusive but a national necessity that has manifested itself in the country’s policies.

The United States and the Republic of Korea signed the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) on June 30, 2007.

U.S. goods and services trade with Korea totaled an estimated $144.6 billion in 2016. Exports were $63.8 billion; imports were $80.8 billion. The U.S. goods and services trade deficit with Korea was $17.0 billion in 2016.

Japan is currently the United States 4th largest goods trading partner with $195.5 billion in total (two way) goods trade during 2016. Goods exports totaled $63.3 billion; goods imports totaled $132.2 billion. The U.S. goods trade deficit with Japan was $68.9 billion in 2016.
