- GR Practitioners should know the limit and scope of their professional knowledge and offer services only within their knowledge and skill base.
- GR Practitioners should seek appropriate consultation and supervision to assist in decision-making when there are legal, ethical or other dilemmas.
- GR Practitioners should act with integrity, honesty, genuineness, and objectivity.
- GR Practitioners must refrain from any conduct which may prejudice the reputation of the GR profession.
- The reputation of the profession is the responsibility of each of its members.
- GR Practitioners should work toward the maintenance and promotion of high standards of practice.
- GR Practitioners should uphold and advance the values, ethics, knowledge, and mission of the GR profession.
- GR Practitioners should protect, enhance, and improve the integrity of the profession through appropriate study and research, active discussion, and responsible criticism of the profession.
- GR Practitioners should contribute time and professional expertise to activities that promote respect for the value, integrity, and competence of the GR profession. These activities may include teaching, research, consultation, service, legislative testimony, presentations in the community, and participation in their professional organizations.
- GR Practitioners should contribute to the knowledge base of GR work and share with colleagues their knowledge related to practice, research, and ethics. GR Practitioners should seek to contribute to the GR profession's literature and to share their knowledge at professional meetings and conferences.
- GR Practitioners should promote cooperation among related disciplines to foster professional growth and interests within the various fields.
- GR Practitioners should promote the continuing development of their profession. They should encourage membership in professional associations, support research endeavours, foster educational advancement, advocate for appropriate legislative actions, and participate in other related professional activities.
