UNFAVORABLE VIEWS OF RUSSIA ARE GROWING

Around the world, negative opinions of Russia are more common than positive ones. According to a  survey conducted by the Pew Research Center conducted from March 2 to May 1, 2013, 39% among publics in 38 nations (excluding Russia) express an unfavorable view of Russia.

Here below are the results showing the percentage of UNFAVORABLE VIEWS about Russia held in EU countries:

  1. France 64%
  2. Germany: 60%
  3. Italy 56%
  4. Poland 54%
  5. Spain 51%
  6. Czech Republic: 51%
  7. United Kingdom: 39%
  8. Greece: 33%

Negative views of Russia are not confined to Western Europe and North America. It is worth noting that in an arc of Middle East nations from Turkey through Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Jordan to Tunisia and including the Palestinian Territories UNFAVORABLE VIEWS of Russia predominate and are growing.

  • Greece:  63%
  • Czech Republic:  41%
  • Spain: 38%
  • United Kingdom: 38%
  • France: 36%
  • Poland: 36%
  • Germany: 32%
