TRACKING NEW INFLUENCERS IN THE NEWS IN SEPTEMBER 2022

Albert & Geiger: Bernard P. Auxenfans former chairman of Monsanto Europe/Africa and COO of its agriculture business, has joined Alber & Geiger. Guus Houttuin, a retired senior trade adviser for the European External Action Service, is joining Alber & Geiger. Alain Georges Van Hamme has also joined Alber & Geiger after stints dealing with competition and trade law at the European Court of Justice and the European Commission. 

Apple: Wallerand Boulnois has joined Apple’s European public policy team after several years at APCO. Apple: Benedikt Blomeyer, former director of EU policy at Allied for Startups, has joined Apple as a regulatory affairs manager. 

Brunswick: Pieter de Gooijer, former Dutch ambassador to France, Monaco and Andorra, has joined as a partner.  

BSA- The Software Alliance: Irma Gudziunaite has joined BSA | The Software Alliance’s policy team in Brussels as Director, Policy  EMEA, to focus on privacy, trade, and cross-border data flows. She was the justice attaché at the Lithuanian permanent representation. Christine Lynch has been promoted to director of global communications, based in Brussels. 

Carbon Gap: The NGO aims to push for carbon removal policies in Europe, backed by funders including the Quadrature Climate Foundation and the Grantham Foundation. Alexander Mäkelä is acting director for EU strategy in policy and Glenn Morley is CEO.  

ChargeUp Europe: Lucie Mattera has been appointed as its first secretary general 

Cleantech for Europe: Suzana Carp has been named as its deputy executive director.   

Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER): Flix’s new senior manager public affairs, Soline Whooley, joins from the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER).  

Dansk Erhverv: Microsoft’s VP of European public policy Casper Klynge is moving back to Denmark to join the trade group Dansk Erhverv as deputy director.  

Eurocities: André Sobczak, VP of the Nantes Metropolitan Area, is the new secretary general of Eurocities. He replaces Anna Lisa Boni.   

European Automotive Data Publishers Assocoation: Pierre Thibaudat has been appointed as director general replacing Sylvia Gotzen. 

European Telecommunications Network Operator’s Association (ETNO): Xhoana Shehu has been promoted to policy manager. 

European Women’s Lobby: Laura Kaun has been promoted to policy and campaigns director at European Women’s Lobby

Eurosif, the European Sustainable Investment Forum: Aleksandra Palinska, of Finance Watch, will be the new executive director  

FIPRA:  FIPRA appointed Stephen Crisp to lead its Digital and Technology practice. He most recently served as the head of central government affairs for the mobility platform DiDi 

FleishmanHillard: Lucas van Straalen starts at FleishmanHillard as a public affairs consultant in financial services. FleishmanHillard has hired a number of new research executives: Lana Pain in reputation management; Lola Martinez-Rufete in energy, climate and transport; Francesca Pellegrini in health care; Linnea Weiss in environment & chemicals; and Sophia McCarthy, Giselle Nascimento Dias and Elio Guenancia in financial services.

Flint Global:Anne-Juliette Rohrbach will launch Flint’s new office in Paris. Thomas Barros-Tastets is now a partner and COO of Europe for Flint. Benoît Roussel, another GPlus/Portland Brussels alum, joins Barros-Tastets in the move to Flint, as a partner. Flint Brussels Partner and Managing Director for Europe is Gregor Kreuzhuber  also ex-GPlus 

FTI Consulting: Luciana Nemeth joined FTI Consulting as a director, health care and life sciences, via the Global TB Caucus.  

Generali: Virginia Di Marco heads from Rome to Brussels to boost communications expertise in Generali’s EU office. 

Gilead Sciences:Andrea Zanaglio, previously with Teva Pharmaceuticals is the new head of EU government affairs. William Scharf from AstraZeneca is now associate director for EU government affairs.

Google’s Brussels Office: Filipa Brigola has left Google’s Brussels office, where she worked as a lobbyist, to become a diplomatic adviser to the Portuguese minister of finance in Lisbon. 

Hanbury Strategies: Finn Meunier has been promoted to lead its EU Financial Services team.  

H+K Strategies Brussels: Karel Vann Eetvelt takes over from Melanie Faithfull Kent as CEO. Melanie Faithfull Kent stays on as H+K CEO Europe. 

HOTREC – Hotels, Restaurants, Bars & Cafés in Europe: Matej Zezlin joins as a public affairs manager, via Cicero/amo.  

Hume Brophy: Viv O’Connor-Jemmett joins Hume Brophy at its global headquarters in Dublin as managing Director, online reputation management, via Digitalis.  

Johnson & Johnson MedTech: Sanziana Negreanu Arboreanu is taking on the role of associate director, regulatory affairs EU policy at Johnson & Johnson MedTech.  

Netflix: Marzena Rembowski is leaving Brussels to continue her role as director, global policy strategic engagement for Netflix in Singapore.  

Novavax: Andrea Corazza, previously of Biogen, started with Novavax as senior director, policy & government affairs for Europe 

Orgalim: Lorenzo Livraghi departs Hume Brophy to join Orgalim as a senior legal affairs and trade adviser. 

Rud Pedersen: Laura Girol Balanyà is a new account director in Rud Pedersen’s food and agriculture practice. Nicholas Lunt, most recently of LOW Associates, joins as director responsible for corporate reputation. Stuart Hurst, most recently of Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, has joined Rud Pedersen’s Brussels office as senior advisor to the health care team.Nicholas Lunt was hired as a director to lead its corporate communications and reputation work. He was most recently at LOW Associates.

Satispay : Lucia Pecchini is Satispay’s new institutional relations director in Brussels  

Schneider Electric: Eloïse Ryon heads to Brussels from Schneider Electric’s France office to take the post of Europe digital policy leader for the company.

Stripe: Niamh O’Donnellanhas joined the European public policy team of fintech company Stripe, where she will be leading government relations in Stripe’s home turf: Dublin, Ireland. She was head of EU Affairs at the Banking & Payments Federation Ireland.

White & Case: Giulio Preti has been promoted to associate .  

Wolt:  Wolt is sending Ylwa Rein from Stockholm to Brussels to be an EU public policy manager focusing on digital policy for the food delivery service.  

ZF Group: Franziska Schwerdtle joins ZF Group as a senior policy adviser. She was previously an adviser to MEP Norbert Lins, the German EPP chairman of the Agriculture Committee.
