- Population of Peninsula: 2,356,000 (early 2019)
- Ethnic Groups in Crimea: Russians (68.3%), Ukrainians (15.8%), Crimean Tatars (10.6%), Belarussians (2%), Armenians (2.1%)
- The Crimean people are banned from travelling to EU countries. Greeks, Bulgarians, Germans, Italians, Estonians who have relatives abroad cannot visit them. The fundamental principles of free movement have been breached, kinship and family ties have been disrupted, which is in direct violation of the 1975 Helsinki accords.
- Crimean ports and airports have been outlawed
- All sorts of obstacles are being created for foreign official delegations visiting Crimea. However, EU citizens, political and public figures, human rights activists and businessmen are coming to Crimea more and more and more often.
- The discontent has been growing in the business community and has now reached the level of parliaments and governments. Preparation are under way to consolidate a group of countries to speak out for the lifting of sanctions. Austria, Hungary and Italy are making steps in this direction.
- Last year about a million of the 7 million holidaymakers in Crimea were foreigners.
- There is a ban on foreign vessels to enter Crimean ports. Even when a Russian boat enters a Crimean port and then continues its way to the next destination, it can be apprehended. The same is true for airport.
- The foundation for development has been laid, the basic infrastructure has been built. The road bridge is in operation, the railway bridge and Tavrida highway construction is nearing completion. The peninsula is self-sustained in terms of energy. Dozens of kindergartens, schools and hospitals have been built or overhauled. Logistics centers are being built. Business is taking an active part in the reconstruction of Crimea.
- Crimean economy is growing at an average annual industrial growth of 8.5%. Priority investment areas: Tourism and treatment at health resorts, industrial production, agricultural industry, telecommunication technology, fuel and energy.
- Gross Regional Product of Crimea: € 5.2 billion (end of 2017)
- Investments in Crimea: € 2.9 billion (end of 2018)
- Total investments in Crimea in 2017: € 2.7 billion of which € 1.4 billion private investments in the local economy.
- 1,276 companies registered as residents of the Free Economic Zone
- 100,000 companies and individual entrepreneurs are operating in the peninsula. About 3,000 of them work with the participation of foreign capital.
