PROFILE: JAPAN BUSINESS COUNCIL IN EUROPE (JBCE)
The Japan Business Council in Europe (JBCE) is the leading European organisation representing the interests of almost 70 multinational companies of Japanese parentage active in Europe. JBCE works closely with the EU Institutions to strengthen both the political and trade relationship between the EU and Japan and develop a policy framework that supports fruitful andf responsible business conduct.
Members of the JBCE operate across a wide range of sectors including information and communication technology, electronics, chemicals, automotive, machinery, wholesale trade, precision instruments, pharmaceuticals, railway, textiles and glass products. Together members of the JBCE represented in 2013 global sales of 1.3 trillion euros.
The core of JBCE's activities is the building of a new era of cooperation between the European Union (EU) and Japan, which is performed under several committees focusing on:

The JBCE works as a key member of the EU-Japan Business Roundtable, a forum created to facilitate open discussions between leaders of the two regions.
