PROFILE : THE EUROPEAN E-COMMERCE AND OMNI CHANNEL TRADE ASSOCIATION (EMOTA)
EMOTA represents online and omni channel sellers. The mission of EMOTA is to help policy makers remove all barriers to the EU Digital Single Market and enable online sellers across the EU to take advantage of the huge potential of a seamless EU internal market for cross-border eCommerce.
The present legal environment with 28 different rules on consumer protection, respect of privacy, delivery and payments result in high costs for distance sellers with international ambitions. Policy makers are keen to help and EMOTA provides information to them where improvements are needed.
EMOTA is active in promoting best practices for webshops. The EMOTA European Trustmark allows consumers to find reliable and trustworthy merchants selling online. Cross-border shoppers in particular who see the EMOTA Trustmark next to the national Trustmark can feel assured that European best trading practices are applied.
