• Make the EU the world’s number one in renewable energies
• Improve, reinforce and apply EU energy market legislation
• Develop a more assertive approach to European energy diplomacy
• Ensure that Russian energy companies operating in the EU unequivocally respect European rules
• Take forceful action, including infringement procedures, to complete the internal energy market
• Promote improved energy efficiency
• Lead the fight against climate change, including in the COP-21 talks
• Maintain the carbon leakage mechanism beyond 2020
• Step up efforts in research and innovation in support of the Energy Union
