Beside AALEP willingness to register in the soon to be uncovered EP-EC Transparency Register, we most certainly don't want to be perceived as simply 'Registrants' so we will continue to call ourselves "Lobbyists" because that's what we are.

AALEP believes that those of us who seek to use our relationships, information and considerable skills to influence appointed and elected public officials to make sound public decisions for the benefit of society as a whole need to reclaim the word and the idea behind it. 'I am a lobbyist'. Nothing to be ashamed about.

The XV St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, which is being held June 16-18, 2011, will convene under the theme 'Emerging Leadership for a New Era' in St. Petersburg, Russia.

AALEP Chairman has been invited by the Interns of the Representation of the State of  Baden-Württemberg to the EU to speak on the subject of lobbying and representation of interests. The Interns of the Representation of the State of Baden-Württemberg to the EU (Vertretung des Landes Baden-Württemberg bei der Europäischen Union) are holding an event entitled "Europäisches Fachgespräch" (European Policy Discussion) on 18 May, 2011 on the subject: Lobbying-the survival of the fittest?  Representation of interests in the EU!
