WHAT INFORMATION WILL A CLIENT REQUEST FROM YOU BEFORE HIRING YOU?

Any Client seeking to enter into a long term contract with a Professional Public Policy Advocate is most likely to request your submitting the following information before taking the decision to hire you and/or your firm. Be prepared !

  1. Describe your approach to performing the desired services. List any other members of your firm who would be assigned to help with or perform a portion of the work. Your  description of work will be general in nature, and the final scope of work will be agreed upon during negotiations if you are successful.
  2. The name and full contact information of your company and, if applicable, any other entity comprising your team. Attach CVs or biographies of all individuals who will be working on the project. The CVs should describe each person’s qualifications for this specific type of work. Also indicate who would manage the project and be the point of contact.
  3. List and description of three projects completed within the previous five years that are relevant to the project. If the relevance is not immediately obvious, describe briefly the relationship as you see it. Attach additional information as appropriate.
  4. List of Current Clients. List all current clients, including name, address and phone number, and briefly describe the type of work you are performing for each client. Identify and describe any existing and/or perceived conflict or potential conflict and how you would propose to resolve them.
  5. List three client references and their contact information for whom you or your team members have completed work similar to that describe in the Request for Proposal (RFP).
  6. Include basic information and history about the business entity, financial information, technical capability, and any other information you feel is important for the client to know.
  7. Fee Proposal, detailed to the greatest extent possible- cost for service: hourly rates (if applicable), monthly retainer fee, typical direct out-of-pocket costs such as travel reimbursement, copies, mailings etc. and any other anticipated expenses that you foresee. Indicate the desired terms of payment and any special considerations.
  8. Additional information, such as you/your team members’ particular experiences, training, or academic background(s) that may make you uniquely qualified for this position such as your experience with… Attach additional materials as appropriate.

Client’s evaluation criteria will be based on your approach, your qualifications, your knowledge and expertise, current clients and expected compensation.
