THE CYPRUS TOURISM INDUSTRY

The Cyprus economy is heavily reliant on the services sector and more specifically on the tourism industry. According to the report issued by the “World Travel & Tourism Council” (‘WTTC’) on the economic impact of travel and tourism in 2015, the direct contribution of travel and tourism to GDP in 2014 was €1,111.0 million (7,0% of GDP).
